The team primarily comprises of medical students at varying stages, many of whom hold previous degrees in scientific fields. The majority (7) are from the University of Aberdeen but the team also comprises of a members from the University of Dundee (1), the University of Guyana (4), an expedition doctor from Georgetown hospital, Guyana and a trained expedition leader.
